Sonoma County [should be Coast, but he wrote County], Hummingbird Hill Vineyard, 14.2%, $25 Aromas of white pepper, peach, mango, lemon and beeswax. The palate is well-focused crisp entry of silky citrus and golden stone fruit. A nice lively feel of purity throughout. Drink 2015-2018.

Ripe and rich in fruit without resorting to excess and clear in its focus on varietal red cherries, the aromas of this full-bodied wine are direct and unreserved, and there is a consistent line of open, tasty character in the mouth as well. A touch fleshy in feel and possessed of early velvet in its texture before late-arriving tannins rough it up a tad, this is a fine choice for drinking now if young, rich Pinot is on the menu. Generous aromas of fresh strawberry, cherry and garden bouquet. Soft and smooth on the palate, with a tasty array of fruit flavors including strawberry, watermelon and peach.
